PSALM 86 – A Prayer of David - I love David because he is so honest with his emotions. He was a man of many failures and huge mistakes, but he knew the heart of God. In all of his petitions and cries to God in this Psalm, it is co-mingled with three “high fives” to Him in versus 5, 10 and 15.
This is worship. It is not just something we do on Sundays before a sermon, worship is to remind us and to reaffirm in our own thinking and reestablish in our own hearts, who IT IS we are talking to. When we remember Who we are talking to in prayer . . . when we praise Him with rejoicing and celebration, our expectations of His response are raised!! You BELIEVE that He wants to help . . . You BELIEVE that He will provide . . . . You BELIEVE that He hears you. . . .You BELIEVE that He is sovereign and He is working all things out for your good and His glory.
THIS is why worship and praise are so important. If we neglect the exultation of God in our spiritual life, and if we don’t spend time just simply thinking about

the character and attributes of God and remembering the work of the Cross, then we will be reluctant to ask with confidence or expect with full assurance, and this is what moves the heart of God. BELIEVE He loves you, He is good, He is ready to forgive. He is abundant in grace and truth. He does not give up on us!!! AMEN.
