When you go to a restaurant, the first thing you do after you sit down at the table is look at the menu. What food is offered? What drinks are offered? What is the restaurant all about? Then, depending on what you are hungry for, you order your food. Sometimes your order the same thing as someone else, but often times, you are hungry for something different than others at your table. This is true of the Word. Whatever your spirit is hungry for . . . or whatever God may want to speak to you about . . .is typically what will stand out to you. When the food arrives, you don’t just smell it, or look at it, or eat one crumb and nothing else . . . YOU EAT!!! You take the time to eat the whole meal, conversing with those at the table with you. In the world of fast food and American culture, we have a terrible habit or inhaling our food because we are always rushing to get somewhere or do something. There are many things of great value when we as families and friends take the time to slowly eat our meals and fellowship with one another. The same is true with our dining experience with Jesus. Slow down, chew on the Word, taste and see the goodness of God!
